Your posts all have the same theme.... "Click here to learn more about this subject".

Please don't bother to make such posts. Many of us on this board have been enjoying the fruit of the vine for decades and don't need such pedantic musings.

The real question is:

what's vivino's purpose and what's donnaclif's motivation for constantly directing people to the Web site?

sorry for coming out as a 'suspicious' character.but i beg to differ with you on this
i am a complete novice in wines though its been an year since i started regularly having wines but my knowledge about the finest wines, grapes and the culture around it is almost nill.
And to be pleasant surprise i found http://www.vivino.com it opened a new window to me on the various grapes, finest wines made from them and major countries growing those wines.thats why i rely more and more on this website to make new 'discoveries' and share with you guys, out of excitement.
It was the only website i could find which gave me so much information at one place though it is not perfect since it does not speaks about best food that should go with a wine.
If you guys know about any such website which offers complete information, share it with me.next time i will use that website's links .

donnaclif,

Be wary of Websites offering information--many times, the information isn't good, many times, the information is offered by marketers, and sometimes, you'll discover a site that's worth reading.

The best way to start to learn is to join a tasting group and have regular meetings to explore the world of wine one country and region at a time. Or hook up with a good wine retailer that offers regular tastings.

Donnaclif,

I would agree with Foodie. I started learning about wine only a few years ago and you will not find a nicer and more educated group of people than this here. They really do go out and try to learn about wine but decide for themselve what they like or not. Nothing is higher than the individuals personal tastes and preferences, which is gained only by trying and trying and trying...which by the way is a pretty nice thing to do
