NV Knapp Serenity. 11% alcohol. This is the one with the black swans on the label. If memory serves, which it sometimes doeesn't these days, it is made from Baco Noir supplemented with some young viniferas. It is ever so slightly off dry. Therefore it made a great quaffer last night after returning from a dry event. Three of us killed it quickly. Nice everyday red for a potentially large variety of uses.

The Knapp Serenity is a blend of Cabernet Franc (51%), Baco Noir (29%) and Rougeon (20%). Residual Sugar .8

We had another bottle of this one tonight and enjoyed it with broiled kielbasa, nuked zucchini and onions, and cherry tomatoes viniagrette. It matched perfectly with them.

According to the website it is now made from Cab Franc and Baco Noir without anything else. It sports 11% alcohol, so I'm still awake, but sleepy.

To clear this up once and fer allways...I'm really only 42 but the Napa wine association gives me 12 cases a year to tell people I was born in 1926. After seeing my picher it becomes very believable. WW [img]/ubb/wink.gif[/img]

We had a more recent bottle last night. This time with pizza made with OO, our Italian tomato sauce, Pecorino Romano, Casio d'Roma, a half tube of Amore pesto, and Penseys' pasta sprinkle; all on an excellent pre-made crust that come from a bakery in Maine. Wine and pizza made great friends with each other.

Tonight True Love wasn't up for some wine, so I popped another recently acquired bottle and used a cup to make Cumberland Sauce with an orange (zest and juice), lemon juice, cranberry sauce and jelly, and a pinch of ground ginger.

Had it with thick slices of ham grilled in a grill pan, the last of our Christmas candied sweet potatoes, and fresh green beans almandine. Just lovely, and I'm sitting here sipping the last glass so WW won't get upset about not posting.

Popped the second bottle of two from the last shipment. It matched very well with some leftover Sauerbraten that we brought to a church function. It's not that they didn't like it, it's just that Bev made too much of it!
