Located in the northern end of California’s Santa Barbara County, the Santa Maria Valley appellation represents one of the premier regions for the production of Pinot Noir. The cooling effects of the Pacific Ocean provides natural “air-conditioning” for the Santa Maria Valley and enables the delicate nuances of the Pinot Noir variety to be expressed. The cooler nature of the appellation and well-drained soils yield smaller production per vine, but greater concentration of flavor and color.
