1999 Tenimenti Luigi d’Alessandro, Il Bosco, Tuscany, Italy, $40. Lots of black fruit aromas are enhanced by a kiss of anise. Complex fruit unfolds on the palate with an almost sensual feel. Polished tannins and easy acidity are noted on the finish. This one delivers the goods. 90% Syrah. 91/91.

They're yankin' your chain because the d'Allesandro comes from Cortona. Two guys with an atlas and too much time on their hands. (Irritating as hell that they're right, isn't it?)

I think any American should get a free pass about Italian geography, since even the Italians don't know where most of these places are. I have Italian friends here in Seattle that get locations wrong all the time. It's a damned confusing country, 'specially for us provincial American louts.

Hey now, that's not playing fair, Bucko. You, WW and I know you moved that posting from the Aussie thread. Methinks that's a misuse of Moderator power. Shame, Shame.

Welcome to the Italian thread Bucko. I knew we'd get you sooner or later. At least you admit when you see the light, unlike ww, whom I know drinks sw on a regula basis, to swab his palate between reds...

Yeah, I saw that too, and I was going to say something, but I knew Dr. B would use his magical powers eventually. Well, he did. I guess SB didn't see where this post originally showed up.

Slippery as an old salamander...... I say, I say we ought to tar and feather the old coot and then make him drink WATER (shudder). Let's round up a posse and blast the coyote......
