This was the third vacation wine that was enjoyed with grilled salmon and swordfish steaks....a very nice match!

1997 David Bruce "Central Coast" $16

I'm not much of Pinot fan, Randy? You out there?, as I favor dark, big, full, chocolatey cabs and syrahs, and most all zins, but... this Pinot Noir is a dark richer version. Dark garnet/tawney in color with a beautiful nose of violets and black cherry. Plum, black cherry and raspberry flavors burst across your tongue and dirty dance in your mouth and finish with slight pepper nuances. The wife was happy for a third day in a row.

I second the kudos for this wine. I have had it with both salmon and duck. It is excellent
with both.

I think a tsunami got ahold of Randy and took him on a three hour tour along with the Minnow.......

Bucksterreeno, Wondered why my on-line time was down so dramatically.WW Oh Yeah , Drew! The good Dr. David used to make some of the funkiest wines ever fermented by man, beast, or witch doctor. He had this beautiful property which if memory serves he lost after some disasterous vintages, but when he hit the grape, it was a Home-Run.I believe it was the 78 estate Pinot that I ranked rite up there with Joe Swans` Haven`t had anything lately, but I`ll pick a bottle of this up. WW
