Went out to the cellar last night to retrieve a bottle for din-din and found the evaporator inop and the temp already up 2 deg. Quickly grabbed a bottle and closed both doors. Just now called the refrigeration co. for service. With local afternoon temps in the 104-106 range, can't stand a dead cooler.

Dunno. I kind of thought it was underway.
Chiller is back on-line, and none too soon; temp on the driveway is 115, and that inside the cellar was already at 72. (Whew!) Turned out that the evaporator fan's motor had seized due to failure of the bearings. The motor was already scalding hot and could have started a fire if not found and replaced.

Every day is talk like a pirate day! Arrrggghhh! Stand fast the mizzen, trim the mains'l and batten down the hatches; the glass is fallin' and there's a blow comin'!
Sorry HW, about your motor burning out and all. Good thing you caught it early, before it became a real catastrophe.
Now, let's all sing "Roast Beef of Old England" me hearties!
[This message has been edited by bernkastler (edited 09-26-2005).]
