Medium brite ruby. Nose muted at first but with 45 minutes in the glass became animated with cherries, red plums, sweet spices and a hint of vanilla. All came over in the mouth. Solid entry, weighty center and a 4 lapper finish. 90/? (can't find my purchase price)13% alc. WW

I just love these wines... Don't think I had a '96, though...

Don't mean to hijack the post but I also like these wines. As a new comer, I've also not had the '96 or any '90's for that matter. I've just picked up a case of the 2004's which were very nice, better in my opinion than the '02s and '03s

You're hardly a new comer.... These wines are great and a case of the '04 is brilliant. Much better than the '02s and '03s. The basic bottle is great as well. Hope you put an opening tag at 5, 10, 15, and 20 years on that case. Love to hear about the progress.....

The '96 should be pretty good right about now and maybe even better later. If the chance comes up, the '99 and the '01 are great as well.

mark

Thanks Mark appreciate that!

I meant a new comer relative to WW with all due respect to wisdom which follows closely with age.

I had initially bought a bottle of the 04 to try out and opened it up against the 03 which I still have some resting. After half a glass, I ran back to the store.... Going tonight to pick up a case of the 05 Graillot Croze Hermitage which is also a great case buy!!

I had picked up a case of the '04 regular bottling and at this rate (my third bottle),...I should've bought two or hid them from view...... Nice stuff if only I'd let them get to their age though...
