I don;t have a lot of experience with Turley, sometimes I like it, sometimes, frankly most times, I'm not a fan. This time was one of those later ones.

The thing is that this wine was distinctly discombobulated, completely out of balanced and not integrated. Nose of sage, herbs, wood, very little in fruit, with the sensation of heat completely there all the time. This thing had a rather high alcohol level and it was not shy showing it. Not sure if that was a typical bottle or a heat damaged one as there was very little fruit and when there is little fruit, there is not much else to go back for in this case.

Haven't been a fan for several years now because of the very thing your so aptly describe. WW

Never was a fan. Tried them several times over the years, but just couldn't get on board with them.

There is a long discussion on the topic over on Robin's forum.

Engineer,

Your assessment seems right on. A number of reasons support the lack of fruit, and in my view, none of the reasons are good.

Thanks gents for the review. It was just a coincidence that I got to try this for dinner the other night. A friend brought it over and frankly no one like it. We decanted it and looked at it over the course of four hours and it never returned to anything that we would like to drink.
