Produced and bottled by Eric Rindal, Touchet, WA.
40% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 9% Sangiovese, 8% Syrah
13.8% alcohol
Dark purple color and opaque in the glass.
Juicy dark berries and some oak on both nose and palate. Red licorice? and cassis or black currants also suggested. Pleasant in the mouth and on the finish. Good with red meat--in this case ground beef. Seems to have plentiful structure.

We've visited them. They have a nice tasting room in a downtown storefront in Walla Walla, and the folks there are nice enough. We weren't wowed by anything we tasted, though. We did like a Sangio-based rose well enough to purchase it for consumption on the trip -- if memory serves, we drank it with Kathy one evening while we stayed with her. Nice notes on this one -- perhaps a second look is warranted. Thanks!

Dan,
Are you still in touch with Kathy? I've been wondering how things are going for her.

Yep. Talk with her quite often. She's mostly been on the rainy side of the mountains with her husband since the fall, and they're heading off on a little England trip shortly. She's happy and doing well.

For the most part, I have been underwhelmed by Waterbrook wines...

I don't know why...their website states
"Best American red wine".

Oh. Well, I'm the best American teacher. Also the best hay farmer in Missouri.

Also, I'm the best looking American.

I need a website to express these and other related personal sentiments in a more credible way . . .

Keep that photo locked away in a mayonnaise jar, under the porch of Funk and Wagnalls. Normal human eyes should not be exposed to such things...the horrors...the horrors...
