While down at the boat this weekend did a dinner with everything grilled on this great little marine grill (menu below). Had several wines with the main dinner and all were good, but the dessert wine was the killer. For dessert, I grilled fresh peach halves drizzled w/ honey then served with mascarpone and a tad more honey. The Wagner Riesling was the perfect accompaniment! It poured with the viscosity of honey, and had fabulous peach/apricot flavors with a hint of almond. What a great ending to a 100% grilled dinner.

-beefsteak tomato w/ balsamic/honey dressing
-shrimp with citrus (orange juice and lime zest)/thyme/chive marinade and grilled lime halves on the side
-porterhouse w/EVOO lemon splash
-radicchio w/ EVOO
-Corn on the cob rubbed with mayonnaise grilled in the husks then rolled in a mayo/parmesano reggiano mix
-grilled peaches

I'm positively drooling, KC. Sounds great for all courses!

It really was good - probably one of the best alfresco meals I've done in years. BTW, the other wines were a 2003 Aldin (from Karl Lawrence) and some leftovers from a couple of distributors who were in and opened some fresh bottles on Friday - a CdP, a Vayqueras and a Bonarda from Argentina. They were gassed before I left the shop and were tasting very well as was the Aldin, which went particularly well with the porterhouse.

Was all this in the rain, or did you get a break?

The rain stopped down there on Friday evening, and Saturday warmed up nicely though a bit windy.

Looks like a great menu. I'll bet the ice wine could have been poured right over the peaches.

Tell me those beefsteak tomatoes weren't local. I've almost given up on our garden already--such miserable weather I have not seen since the last miserable weather pattern...

Beefsteaks here are about as big as a quarter. I got them at Whole Foods and believe they were from Florida.
