Hey all,
$22 for 375

I generally am not a huge fan of Zin ports, but this one was really good.
lots of sediment already, it was super rich and really spicy with some intense raspberry/dark cherry notes.

just got a couple of sips after a customer bought it and opened it right there in the store.

i like Eos 2001 reserve petite sirah quite a bit, too.

You mean the '01 Reserve PS didn't stick to the roof of your mouth? I wouldn't have touched it until at least 2010.

ok, ok... i know... i was bad. very bad, indeed.

i actually kind of like young super-aggresive petite.
(see my multiple refrences to the 2004 earthquake p.s.)
the eos 01 reserve actually was pretty darn approachable compared with some others i've slaughtered before their time. looking back in journal. notes were:
purple magenta color, blueberry, alcohol, cocoa on nose. full-bodied, ultra-rich satin mouthfeel with flavors of cherry liquer, blueberry pie and blackberry syrup. dark chocolate and a bit of vanilla highlights long finish. somewhat sweet, plenty of tannins, but not unpleasantly.

i'm a bit of a pet-wine masochist, i suppose
it's kind of the wine version of founder's bourban breakfast stout (anyone had it?)- you're better off drinking it with a fork and knife.

my stag's leap pets i will let sit, though.
