- Auburnwine - 02-12-2003 Get this sticky. It runs about $18 for 375ml. Drink it up (but in a savoring sort of way). Relish that warm, smooth praline and coffee. Smile big. - Drew - 02-13-2003 Absolutely Fabulous stuff HON!!! Drew - Auburnwine - 02-13-2003 Shhhhhh! If everybody knew how brilliant and joyous these ports and muscats were, they would go flying off the shelves and become damned expensive. - zenda2 - 12-27-2003 I've been enjoying these museum release NV wines from Yalumba for years, broke out a couple of their Antique Tawny & one Muscat for the holidays. The Tawny went so well with creme brule that my dessert-making sister promises to provide lots more of these every year if I'll provide lots more wine. Talk about your no-brainer decisions. http://www.yalumba.com/product.asp?p=153&b=34 [This message has been edited by zenda2 (edited 12-27-2003).] - wondersofwine - 12-29-2003 One of my friends gave me a creme brulee kit for Christmas--four serving dishes and a burner that you fill with butane and then ignite to carmelize the sugar. Haven't used it yet but look forward to the spectacle. I have some Buller dessert wines but may have to look for this one from Yalumba also. - Skeeter - 03-21-2004 Picked up a bottle of this a few weeks back and gave it a whirl as a post-dinner tipple. Beautiful... halfway between a sticky and a port for me. Deep bronze color and a massive, enticing aroma. A little bit of lingering sweetness, silky-smooth, powerful and delicious. Turned out to be an excellent digestive a day or two later after an over-indulgence of pizza, too. NZ$25/375ml bottle. Skeeters Summary: Another glass? Yes, please! - dananne - 05-08-2005 My goodness, what a wonderful drink. This bottle went bye-bye very quickly last night. - zenda2 - 06-29-2007 I'm about out of my 'antique tawny', and I'm having a hard time finding replacement bottles locally. Road trip! |
