- LAWDRO - 01-03-1999 Pouring rain here on Long Island all day long. Built a fire, loaded Billy Joel's Cold Spring Harbor CD, started working on 1998 taxes and decided I needed a glass of Port. Beautiful ruby red with slight thinning at the rim. Strange acetone nose that continues and dominates the palate; shows nice sour cherry flavors and a warm (as opposed to hot) finish. But for the weird acetone flavor, a solid A- wine which is now ready to drink. - MICKSTA - 01-04-1999 <<A solid A- wine which is now ready to drink.>> I had this about a year ago and it seemed extremely young and closed?! Did u have it from 375ml? - LAWDRO - 01-05-1999 I had this about a year ago and it seemed extremely young and closed?! Did u have it from 375ml? Yes, Paul - this was from a .375 purchased at a Morrell auction back in 1995 for $22 a bottle. FWIW, I have noticed substantial bottle variation from within the case. Most bottles show very slight seepage, but there's no evidence that the wines have been cooked. |
