- Drew - 05-10-2003 As of late I've been disapointed in some of the 2001 California offerings and this Cline gets put in that category. Deep ruby/purple. Spicy zin nose. A lighter syled zin than their previous vintages with brambly, spicy zin flavors with an off putting mineral bitter flavor that I couldn't get through, which lasted through the linguring finish. Without this note and a little more body, would be a nice value zin, IMHO. 13.8% Alc/vol. $9.99 Drew - winoweenie - 05-11-2003 Tried the lil' hummer at the club yesterday and totally agree. This usually reliable producer must have really overcropped. The Dancing Bull had some merit and the Buehler was a solid top 80s wine. The Bogle was its' usual good quaffer. Took a box of the last 2 home for the casual drop-in trade. WW - quijote - 03-04-2004 Aha! I tried the 2000 at a restaurant a few weeks back and loved it, so I picked up the 2001 but was not quite as pleased. Interesting to find similar opinions here. - Drew - 03-04-2004 GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE!! Drew |
