Don't be put off by Zingaro's tall thin bottle and distinctive black/neon-colored label. This zinfandel tastes similar to a south coast Paso Robles Sauret Vineyard zin, but for several dollars less ($14-15).

Zingaro has juicy plum, cherry, and spice flavors. Although it's not as refined as an Eberle Sauret zin, it is a vibrant wine that held its own against my favorite pizza sprinkled with cracked pepper. Good stuff!
