- JAZ - 09-04-2001 I am attending a Mediterrean theme dinner, serving a chicken couscous dish. I am a student and do not want break the bank on a bottle (less than $15). What would you recommend? Jason - Botafogo - 09-04-2001 The best DRY rose you can find from Spain, Southern France, or Italy OR a Chimay Cinq Cent Belgian ale..... - barnesy - 09-04-2001 Careful with the Chimay! My sister's boyfriend brought over a bottle (we like to experiment with beers). I failed to knowtice that the bottle had undergone secondary fermentation. Scared the pooey out of us and nearly put a hole through the cieling. Had a good laugh and a good beer though. Barnesy - Drew - 09-04-2001 Love the Chimay! Drew - Botafogo - 09-04-2001 Barnsey, that's NORMAL for bottle conditioned ales like Chimay (they are like bottles of Champagne that have never been disgorged). If the pressure was excessive, perhaps it had gotten shaken up? - barnesy - 09-04-2001 I know its normal. I just didn't pay attention to it before hand and didn't give the cork the proper respect it deserved. Live, laugh and learn Barnesy |
