.......from Gallo. 1997 Gallo of Sonoma, Zinfandel, $12 retail, 13,800 cases. Jammy raspberry fruit, currants, a hint of pepper, decent balance of oak and acid, and a long, fruity aftertaste. Put this puppy in a blind tasting and raise a few eyebrows........ Good value.

I've been surprising people with Gallo wines at blind tastings for years. This one sounds like it falls right in line.
