This intense zin is from Sonoma Counties Pagani Ranches' 100+ year old vines.A field blend of 7% Mataro, 3% Petite Sirah, and 2% Alicante Bouschete. An almost perfect growing season allowed these old vines to produce some marvelous fruit. This makes for marvelous juice,(ie) marvelous wine. In the hands of one of the master zinfandel winemakers in Calif a dy-no-mite bottle has resulted. Brillant ruby, loads of red fruits, a passel of spices, and the chocolate nuances on the center makes for a lush, lively, lovely bottle. A 4-1/2 lapper finish is the capper for this hummer. Not a cheapie even at issue this is a 93/88 because of the 26 issue tag. WW
