- Drew - 06-07-2003 Closed up tighter than Bucko's mouth after a scolding from Georgie . Have recorked 2 days now and the wine is trying to open. I can detect nice Petite Sirah (8%) notes from this blend of 84% Zin, 8% Carignane and the PS but the zin flavors are muted and closed down. Anyone have any experience with this wine or idea as to what's going on? 14.5% Alc/vol., $20 Drew [This message has been edited by Drew (edited 06-07-2003).] - Georgie - 06-07-2003 Teachers don't scold, Drew, we "counsel." Let the wine out of the corner and you can bet it'll open up. - winoweenie - 06-07-2003 Drew-bugger. This particular bottling is the only thing from Draper that I've never gotten. Even the 97 I passed on. Cold, hard stuff IMHO. WW - Drew - 06-07-2003 Well, tried a small sample a couple of minutes ago and it seems to be getting better. Definately rustic and a little to much heat showing but not to shabby now. I was thinking....we just lugged this bottle to the beach, 150 miles, could it be the dreaded "Bottle Shock"? Drew - newsguy - 06-09-2003 ah, a weekend in O.C. drew? hope it didn't rain the *entire* time. if so, i'm sure you had some other bottles to keep you occupied [This message has been edited by newsguy (edited 06-09-2003).] |
