Four Vines makes zinfandels from Sonoma, Napa, Amador, and Paso Robles--also some syrah and a zinfandel "port."
I had just a sip or two of my dinner companion's wine which was the Amador County zin (not sure of vintage but perhaps 2002). I liked it and found it to be quite fruity but didn't pin down particular berries. He commented on some leather notes but also was unable to put descriptors to some of the flavor elements. This wine runs about $19.00. I did a search and see that Drew reported on an undrinkable bottle of the Four Vines Old Vines Cuvee (now $11 at the winery) and Glass-A-Day and Innkeeper had good things to say about the Cuvee. I would be interested in trying the other zins from this producer.

Also enjoyed their "Naked" Chardonnay (an unwooded version). Still can find very little information on the "winery."

KC their site does not give very much information. It is much like it was a year ago. There is no physical address. There is only a P.O. Box. They are not on the Paso Robles Vinters and Growers page (http://www.pasowine.com/). Still sounds like a boiler room operation to me.

I am a fan of all their stuff. KC knows!
