I have finally found a wine I can drink. 1997 Rutherford Hill Merlot. Does anyone else agree that it is awesome? Really: The first wine of any kind I enjoy in 20+ years of alcohol enjoyment. Of course, I never tried many $20+ wines before. Maybe thats the problem. But, 1998 Rutherford Hill not as good. Looking for more 1997. Bought out local store. Can't find elswhere. This is NOT the special reserve which is $70.

Jdereuil, welcome to the board. It`s obvious you have a solid palate to be able to pick the 97 over the 98. There are quite a few 97s out there I think you`d like.97 was a beauty. So the vintage may be more the reason for the wine ringing your bell rather than the vineyard, tho I agree on the quality of their merlot. Try a few of the other 97s and see if you don't find some lil' darlins. winoweenie
