- NateC - 12-22-2005 Going to a friend's house for dinner tomorrow. All I know is that he is preparing a beef tenderloin but don't know how or with what sides (trying to surprise us). I'm thinking a Shiraz would be a good choice with the beef but don't know which to pick. Would appreciate recommendations under $20 per bottle. Also would love to hear other suggestions. TIA. Nate C. - Kcwhippet - 12-22-2005 Welcome to the Wine Board, Nate. Not sure where you're from - you don't say in your profile, so can't help with local recs. Anyway, I believe I'd pick a Cabernet Sauvignon - fairly young and from Napa. - NateC - 12-22-2005 We're in VA. Not thrilled with many of the in-state vineyards so happy to be shopping for others. Will look around for a cab tomorrow but if you have a specific bottle in mind I'd love to hear it. - robr - 12-27-2005 Where is C'ville? Other than VA (we know that). - wondersofwine - 12-29-2005 Pretty sure he's in Charlottesvile, location of University of Virginia. |
