HAd some wonderful Hesse Merlot the othernight at a local restaurant, but the owner won't divulge his source. Any inbfo would be appreciated (winery tardename, countryof origin, state, etc.). Thanks!

Perhaps you mean Hess? If so, then you can find the '95, '96, & '98 vintages online at:
http://www.wine-searcher.com/
Simply enter "Hess merlot" in the "Wine Name" space.

There is Hess Merlot, Napa Valley, which widely available.
