A final Halloween porch wine report.

We decanted it about 30 minutes, as sediment was present. From the Umpqua Valley in So. Ore.

I really like this winery, if not their prices. I think this ran about $20.

Dark, blueish-red color, bordering on purple. Plums and blueberries on the nose, with a whiff of vanilla. Gobs of fruit following the nose, adding some blackberry flavors. The vanilla wraps things up on the finish. Good tannic structure, and a fine merlot with some character. It depletes my reserves of merlot at the house to one bottle of Barlow Vineyards. 14.1% alc. I'll look for it again at some point. It was likely the favorite of the 4 bottles opened that evening by everyone present.
