Deep garnet color with a nice fruity nose, some oak and spiciness. good mouth filling wine with a medium length finish. Nicely balanced despite fruit forward.

Paired with Italian cured meats, cheese and bread.

I agree and so did the rest of the party. Average scores had it up in the top third of the wines of the evening.

Another bottle that did not see the ocean.

I prefer the Blackstone Napa Valley Merlot to the California designation (the Napa Valley costs a few bucks more) but others on the board have preferred the California one.
