- dananne - 07-05-2006 South Eastern Australia. Somewhat opaque purple in color, with ruby flashes along edge. Was not decanted, and was consumed over 2 nights. Nose of crushed blackberry and vanilla. Blackberry flavors mingle with black cherry, adding some mint on the end. Lavishly oaked, very soft wine with minimal tannins. Fell apart a bit on the second night. Alc. 15.5%. Paid about $15 for it. I've found that I'm liking the MP less and less each year. Anne enjoyed it very much, however. FWIW, RP gave it a 90, and Tanzer an 86. Bob said drink over 7-8, but I'd say to pop it sooner. - winoweenie - 07-05-2006 I have to cast my vote wif' youse Dan'l. WW - brappy - 07-05-2006 The new winemaker for these will be Chris Ringland. Should be a great wine. I believe that starts with the '06 vintage. |
