Opaque, purple color. Grapey nose, with some vanilla. Solid entry, very full bodied wine with some grape flavors following the nose, joined with wild berries, some earthy flavors, and a touch of black pepper spiciness. Pretty long finish -- tannins present, but not heavy. This may fall a bit more into the "big, ripe fruit" area. Alc. 14%, and as a side note, when it warms much past 65*, it feels a bit hot. Much better closer to cellaring temperature than ambient room temp -- especially in summer. Maybe could have used a year or two more in the cellar to better integrate the alc. Picked it up for $12 at the Whole Foods grocery store. I'll probably pick up another bottle or two and let them sit a bit, waiting for when I'm more in a mood for a bigger wine (like, for instance, this winter -- when it's not 90* outside).
