- newsguy - 09-27-2001 ($9.99) color of cranberry-grape juice. nose of black cherries, spice and a touch of vanilla. taste of same, with a hint of silky tannins on the tongue. this soft wine is ready to drink now. went great with grilled burgers and does just fine on its own. - Drew - 09-27-2001 I've always liked Buckleys and picked up a couple of the '97 Cab/Merlot blend yesterday. Drew - mrdutton - 09-27-2001 Newsguy, Drew...... There's no doubt that this juice is a decent drink. Everytime I see some bottles on the shelf, I pick-up a few. Doesn't take long to put the empties in the recycle bin...... - Tom 1960 - 10-01-2001 Picked up the Buckleys on Sat.night along with a bottle of pinot noir(Mt.Eden).Had some of the shiraz Sunday night with chicken and pasta. I'm partial to Rosemount but I do enjoy this and will make a future purchase. Flavors of bright dark fruits initially but after 1 hour of breathing, smoothed out to reveal darker flavors with a medium one dimensional finish. The Pepperwood Grove blew this away at $6.99. The Buckley's was $9.99, 13.5%Alc/vol. Better shiraz out there for $10 or less, IMHO. Drew |
