Drew, WW and others who like these wines--
Carolina Wine Company is now treating them like Bordeaux futures--case orders only. The 2002 (said to be an EXCEPTIONAL vintage) is due in next fall and I just ordered a case of Sarah's blend. They have sold out on their allotment--500 cases in three days! They are almost out of the Marquis-Philips shiraz allotment. (Last year I mixed eight bottles of Sarah's blend and four shiraz, but didn't have that option this year because of the solid case restriction). You might ask your local wine retailer how the status is on 2002 orders.

I didn't put the price. $167.88 for a case of either the Marquis-Philips "Sarah's Blend" (now sold out at CWC) or Marquis-Philips Shiraz. I think they are now offering the cabernet sauvignon and merlot at the same price. I assume that includes tax so I am getting the Sarah's Blend at under $14 a bottle, tax included. Not bad! Will be interested to hear what others are paying.

In the fall -- before they were "discovered" -- I got several bottles of Sarah's Blend and the Shiraz for $12. Before Christmas, I picked up a couple for $16.

They are lovely wines, well-priced in the mid-teens, but I still can't understand the buying frenzy that is taking place in some quarters. I'd love to do a blind tasting of them against some of their peers.
