- jasmudger - 10-17-2004 Ninth Island Pinot Noir 2003 Tasmania, Australia 9.5 An amazingly well crafted Pinot Noir! Layers of fruit, soft accessible tannins and a great finish. Andrew Pirie's Tasmanian version is a fresh raspberry fruit style, more like a Fleurie than a Nuits-Saint-Georges, but its got too much to talk about – I think I need to revist this one again to figure out all the qualities. £8.99 A real surprise, a bit of a tasmanian devil Jimmy - Thomas - 10-17-2004 If my conversion rate is correct, that wine is a lot more money over here. Have you tried their Shiraz? - dananne - 10-17-2004 I've got a few of the '01 and one of the '02 sitting in my cellar. Haven't touched 'em yet, so thanks for the notes on the '02. Retails for about $20 here in Atlanta, though I paid less as the guy at my local shop threw them into a mixed case purchase I was putting together based upon his knowledge of what I like. Think I'll crack one soon. Again, thanks for the notes. |
