This was a fun NZ Pinot. Is cherriest a word? If so, it may be the cherriest Pinot I've had all year.

Splash decanted for about 20 minutes while it warmed up a bit from cellar temp. Bright ruby color, with cherry and plums on the nose, with slight barnyard. Flavors of cherry and strawberry wash across your mouth, while a bit of bacon fat comes on late. Very fine tannins contribute to a subtle spiciness on the finish. I don't think this is a heavyweight, though it's not subtle with the fruit either. Probably not going to age well, either, so drink short term. 13.6% alc. Paid $19 for it locally, and Tohu actually LOWERED their price from the 2001 by $5. FWIW, WE gave it a 90 and said to drink soon.
