Our first Pinotage, from the makers of Goats du Roam and Goat Rotie in S. Africa. With BBQ'd babybacks, scalloped spuds, green beans almondine and Mexican dinner rolls. Muted nose, faint sour cherries on the palate.... more going on than first appears. And more promising than its "goat" cousins. Difficult to characterize, at least for me. She liked it, which is a good thing, since I bought a few more... Pinotage are not common in these parts. Supplemented with Echelon Pinot Noir (see separate note). About $10.
