Deep, dark, clear purple-garnet color. Highly extracted. Complex and intriguing nose, with lots of sweet vanilla, sage, raisins, baked cherries, and spice cake. Coats the mouth at first, but then somewhat lacking--a bit of a black hole midpalate--and a not unpleasant streak of acidity with baked cherries and sweet oak. Undenyable peach flavor on the finish. Medium to full bodied; alcohol 13.5%. Good juice. 2,000 cases. Around $28 in NYC. 91/91.
