14.5% alcohol
Dark, dense purple color shading to magenta at the rim. Black currant/blackberry nose. The wine coats the tongue and palate with black currants. At first dusty tannins and high acid dominate the fruit. Softens a bit with decanting/breathing time. Turns into a possible dinner wine after all (with hearty beef dish). Served with beef tips and baked potato. A 4-lapper finish. Worth the price of admission, maybe (still some reservations on my part.) I may wait two or three years to open bottles 2 and 3 of this. I prefer the Henry's Drive Cabernet Sauvignon, also from Marquis-Philips.
