Semi-sweet chocolate and oak. Decanted for 1 1/2 hours, as when opened the nose seemed closed. After decanting the nose revealed chocolate, oak, dark plum and tobacco notes. Not quite opaque black/ruby with magenta on the rim. Flavors of semi-sweet chocolate, tobacco, dark and bright fruit, oak and pepper. Full bodied. 12.5% Alc/vol. $14. This is a very nice shiraz but just a notch over in the oak department....and I mean just a notch.
