Testing out possible summer wines.
2006 Bedford Road Sauvignon Blanc $8.99 on sale
(I have two or three of this already on hand along with a Salience from Linda Domas from Australia which was $9.99 on sale)
The Bedford Road is exported only I believe--not sold in New Zealand. It is from a vineyard next to a famous Cloudy Bay property and I usually enjoy it every vintage. This was a pale straw color; transparent. Grapefruit and lemon zest on the nose. Crisp, clean tastes on the palate. Finishes clean. Nice with Feta cheese and with broccoli-cheese soup. Would be a good foil to fish with lemon slices. Very nice.

2007 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc
13% alcohol, Paid $16.99 at the grocery store. Pale straw color with transparency. Pleasing pungent nose. Delicious tingly sensation on the palate. Lemon and grapefruit without too much grassiness.

Will also try the Salience from Australia, the Nobilo (New Zealand) and the Pollo Bianco from Biale Vineyards, Napa but I suspect I'll go back for more of the Kim Crawford as one of my go-to whites this summer. It held up well in the refrigerator for several days.
