- dananne - 09-24-2006 Marlborough. Pale yellow/straw color, with an explosive nose of citrus and tropical fruits, which attack the palate with big, juicy flavors. High acidity and some balancing residual sugar. This is not a food-friendly SB, but it does fine on its own. Some people will like it, but it might be a bit too much for others. All stainless, and under a screwcap (like most NZ whites). Ran about $16 locally. Alc. 13.5%. FWIW, New Zealand’s first indigenous wine company. BTW, they do a nice job with Pinot Noir, and at reasonable prices. I love the absolutely huge notes of guava that I get always with this wine but it can overwhelm some light foods but works well with nice sandwichs!! - Glass_A_Day - 09-24-2006 Also am a fan. Seems to be a winner every time. |
