this was one of eight wines i had with a large group at a tasting over the weekend and was the overwhelming favorite (at $24.99/bottle). my palate was already wrecked by other wines before i got to this one so i can't post any detailed taste notes (and we were drinking out on a balcony where it was so humid i couldn't really give any specifics on the nose, either).

simply put, this was an elegant, tasty wine with good, red fruit flavors and a nice, slightly peppery finish before the tannins kicked in. (that's right, nearly half shiraz and i'd still call it elegant). this is definitely cellar-worthy and probably nearly five years away from its peak.

although at $25 a bottle, i'd definitely take the gallo barrelli creek were i forced to choose.

Hi Newsie. Don't you realize it's dangerous to drink on a balcony? If the glass is slippery, you could drop and break it. The bin 389 is usually a good P/Q offering. The 92 was fabulistic. I always try to stash some in my cellar. WW
