Hey everyone,
I'm interested in what you think of the Lindemans wines©
I tried, if I remember correctly, their Pinot Noir¥Bin Series¤, and I found it a bit thin, not much body, taste wasn't bad but nothing exciting©

Anyone try it?

Haven't tried their Pinot, and don't like their oaky and very popular Chardonnay. Have enjoyed their other reds and blends thereof, but usually chose offerings from their competition.

Haven't tried anything from Lindeman's for several years. Maybe I should go back and give them another shot but there's too many great small producers out of Australia in the same price point. With Australian wines, I look for the importer. The Greatful Palate, Ben Hammerschlagg(Epicurian Wines), The Australian Premium Wine Collection along with others are some to look for. There are always exceptions, but after a few years of matching my palate to these importer's palates, these are the wines I trust. It gets much deeper than that, but that's a start.

As to a Pinot Noir from Australia......I've had a couple that I've enjoyed (out of around 50 tasted), but nothing that screams out to me. I guess with Pinot Noir, I'm stuck in a couple of places: Burgundy and Oregon. Your description of the Lindeman's PN is about what I think of most PNs from Australia, add a green pepper or two. For the most part, Australia = Shiraz. With exceptions of course, but predominately, that's it.
