- Drew - 07-17-2007 Grenache 46%, Shiraz 34% and Mourvedre 20%. Very, very good Stump Jump for 2005. Dark ruby/purple not opaque. Spicy raspberry, blackberry and dark berry flavors with a pronounced tar element. Hints of cracked pepper and euclyptus also. Enjoyed very much. Screw top. 14.5% Alc/vol. $8.99 Drew - Innkeeper - 07-17-2007 For more info see: http://wines.com/ubb/Forum14/HTML/000489.html - Drew - 07-18-2007 Wow, forgot all about that...looks like our tn's were right on! Drew RE: 2005 d'Arenberg "The Stump Jump" - Innkeeper - 01-29-2013 We picked up an '09 in the sale bin at our super market for $7.75! We did not know how long it had been sitting there at fairly high temps, but gave it a chance. We unscrewed it tonight and matched it with thick broiled lamb loin shops, green beans almandine, and pilaf made with almond oil in the bottom and beef stock on top. Wine and food were booth excellent. The wine might have been moved along with the extra heat. It as received some excellent reviews, but has been described as still closed. This one wasn't. |
