Here's another fine example of how good the '98 Oz wines are.

First there's the color. Very deep purple, opaque, laced with garnet. On opening, the nose was a little closed... mostly oak and black fruit. Just a slight hint of oak though on tasting. This is a tight, very fruit driven shiraz with blackberry and hints of chocolate and licorice flavors with good acidity. IMHO a very food friendly wine. 13.9% Alc/Vol. I paid $10.50 and could have posted under Best Buys.
