Yarra Valley, Australia.

Bright, clear ruby color. Strawberry and cinnamon on the nose. Medum weight, some earthy notes. Dried leaves, maybe? Not a great deal stands out. There are some dusty tannins ("dusty" always being a descriptor that has cracked me up in the past, but which is very appropriate in this case). The finish picks up some raspberry and there is a bit of oak that breaks through, not to the point of unpleasantness, but to the point of overshadowing the fruit. I'm not down on this wine, but there just wasn't enough there to justify a $25 price tag at Whole Foods. 13.9% alc. Likely will pass on it in future and keep exploring.

Have you noticed if anyone in Atlanta (like Tower) is currently carrying the Kilikoonin (sp?) wines?

I've seen Kilikanoon at Tower on Piedmont, at d'Vine Wine Bar and Shoppe in Dunwoody, and at the Whole Foods on Ponce de Leon. It may be a few more places, too, but I just can't remember off the top of my head. "Siblings" is a nice P/Q wine.

Speaking of Tower Oz wine purchases, I picked up the Viking Shiraz that was on closeout sale (I think it was half-off of $50). If memory serves, I think you had picked some up, too. How long do you plan to sit on yours? I'm thinking it's likely hands-off for 5-10. Your opinion?
