My first 2004 wine (from New Zealand). We've had reports on the Coopers Creek unoaked Chardonnay (Drew and IK) and the Riesling (moi). This winery seems to do a decent job with their white wines. This was part of a free tasting at a restaurant in town. Probably should have been served at the end of the tasting as it came across as a bit sweet and may have affected the taste buds for later pourings. I liked this and would pick it up if seen at the wine shop.
Next up was a Brancott S.B. (2003 I believe) which seemed blah and bland after the Coopers Creek. Then the Cloudy Bay (didn't get the vintage down) which I was eager to try because of its reputation. It didn't do much for me. I would like to retry without another wine beforehand. We also tried a New Zealand Pinot Noir and a Syrah from there. Wasn't impressed by either but I have yet to find a N.Z. Pinot Noir I really like.
