- goodgrapes - 11-22-2001 Hello, just joined. Anyway I was reading the posts regarding wine selection for Thanksgiving and the Zins kept coming up. I have a Red Zinfandel, 1997 St Francis, anyone have an opinion on this wine, would it be OK with a traditional roasted Turkey dinner? If so what temperature should I serve it at? I am primarily a Merlot and Pinot Noir fan and I have never tried a Red Zin(gasp). Also was considering bringing a White Zin with me just in case my hosts do not like red, any recommendations in the $15-20 range, hopefully something I can buy in a supermarket since I do not think anyone else will be opened. (I know I procrastinated, again) Any fast advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks and happy Thanksgiving Carolyn - Innkeeper - 11-22-2001 Serve the red zin at 65 degrees F. Pick up a Beringer White Zin at the super, and serve it at 55 degrees F. That should make everybody hoppy. - goodgrapes - 11-22-2001 Thanks, gotta run, have a good day |
