Dark purple with ruby tinges. Really tight at this stage showing currant and deep plum flavors with a hint of licorice. Structure, balance, fruit and tannins seem to be in line, just needs to sleep some more. Recorked 1/2 bottle to try tonight. Got a great price on a bunch from the owner at one of my haunts for $17 per. 14%Alc/vol.

Ok, woke one up Sunday for a cook out and WoW, what a difference. Starting to sing now with rich dark fruit, currant, blackberry, tar, seems more tar than licorice, and vanilla. Tannins still a plenty at the mid palate and a very long finish. Still plenty of years ahead judging by this bottle. 1/4 bottle left over was consumed on Memorial Day and showed even better, richer.
