Found a two-year-old note from Drew on the '97 version of this "Super Tuscan", with 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot, 12.5% ABV. Supermarket had a "close-out" tag on it, marking it down from $14 to $12 to $10 to $7.69; bought their remaining five bottles at that last price. A nice, "mellowed-out" Chianti of sorts, with the Merlot dampening the harshness that so often characterizes Sangiovese. Nice with Mozzarella and basil pizza.

You folks have got a lot of credibility with this kid.... you say it's a good buy, that's good enough for me. (Got any stock tips?)

No stock tips, but if Puccini seeks financial backing for an opera go for it--the guy writes a good one...

Found one of these from the '03 buy hiding in the cellar and paired with more homemade pizza. OK, but not setting any records.... still fruity, not damaged, gets better the longer it sits in the glass, nice finish. There's yet another one that needs to be consumed.
