Kind of a burgundy color; semi-transparent and quite viscous. Fruity red berry nose. Really quite mellow on the palate with a mild tartness that holds the fruitiness in check. Probably a Sangiovese base. Label doesn't specify varieties of grape. I paired it with pizza the first night (sausage, bell pepper, olives, onion) and with stuffed peppers the next night. A quality wine that can go with everyday meals.
Translation of the back label indicates note of sour dark cherries and raspberry with floral shadings.
