- Catch 22 - 02-15-2001

OK, I admit it, I generally hate to see these type of inquiries, but.... A co-worker asked me about a bottle of wine he has stored away, so I said I would seek the wisdom of the board for him. He has a bottle of a 1971 Barolo. All the info he could relay from the bottle was this: Poderi Scanavino Giovanni
Azienda Vitivinicola
I've already told him that it's value is in the drinking, not monetary, if he's lucky. He tells me that it has been stored at 50-55 degrees (I'm skeptical). What are the odds that this bottle is drinkable or better?
