Today was the annual "It's-Labor-Day-and-Tomorrow-We-Have-to-Go-Back-to-School" commiseration barbecue at a some teacher friends' house. A visiting Italian relative had brought over this bottle of wine as a hostess gift earlier in the summer and we popped it open tonight. What a WONDERFUL wine! I wish that some of you knowledgeable folks had been there to taste it with me. (I felt it was kind of wasted on a novice like me.) It was absolutely delicious with the burgers. I hope I can find some it on this side of the Atlantic!

An aged out Brunello is hard to beat.
