Any one have any specific tasting notes or opinions or indepth information on this one:

1994 Terra Di Ripanera, Vino da tabola di Toscana. Estate produced an bottled by Maria Grazia Buerrieri, San Casciano Val Di Pesa, Italia.

50% Sangiovese and 50% Cabernet.

Supposedly sold for $58.00 per w/0 case discount, now selling for $300.00 per case. A local wine shop owner says it is ready to drink now and is super-good.

Any input would be appreciated.

No TNs, Mike, but notice with Wine-searcher.com that Geerlings and Wade has it for $40.99 per.

WW that's why I posted here. I was kinda hoping that Foodie or Roberto would see this new thread and respond!

Oh, bye the bye, Pine Ridge is a good thing (unrelated matter).

Mr. D, you don't want to hear my diatribe, do you? What's that? You do?

I wouldn't spend a dime on anything with the moniker, Super Tuscan. To me, they ain't super and they ain't Tuscan. They are big, chewy, bombastic wines that could have been produced in California or Australia. They speak little about the place from which they come, and they are overpriced because fawning wine writers can't shut up about them.

I sure do wish that Foodie would not clam up, afraid to share his true thoughts.....

He is right, you know. There is a wealth of wine out there at reasonable prices, although $25 per bottle is not unreasonable from my standpoint.

Yeps! Ole' "silver-tongue" strikes agin'!!! WW

I must find a way to keep that genie in the wine bottle; he gets out in the evening after I open the bottle and he makes all kinds of true comments...

Incidentally, watch for the lastest wine-writer-inspired wines known as Baby Brunellos. These used to be known as Rosso di Montalcino; thay have always been good wines. Now the new moniker will make them expensive wines.

Well I have one bottle, so I'll just have to open it up and taste what all the bruhaha is about.

However, I'm almost afraid to admit that I'll be opening and tasting the stuff.....
